It all started back in 2010.

I was working towards my PhD in Historical Musicology. I was looking for a suitable topic for my thesis. I started become interested in researching about the history of piano teaching and the contribution of the teachers in the city I was living in. I thought, certainly, with a rich history of piano teaching and learning here, there must be a big pool of resources waiting for me to explore, right? No, not a chance. I could not find much.

Then I was bothered by my professor who did not care much for my topic, and most of all, the tedious editing one had to do to make the paper look right.

The more I dug into the topic, the less interested I was continuing my study.

I found that I would be more interested in teaching hands-on instead of spending endless hours writing, editing and correcting myself with words. Oh those borderlines and footnotes etc etc.

I gave up on my PhD. I found my passion in piano teaching instead.

And I have not looked back ever since. I have burned the bridges and built my own new path.

I keep on walking and creating.

I have written six books: four piano beginner books, one technique book, and one on piano.

I have built multiple piano studios, one piano schools, one charity organization.

I have organized and performed in many concerts, and had my students, staff and fellow musicians involved in all of them.

I have helped thousands of pianists online, and coached hundreds of them virtually and in person.

I know I can help other pianists and piano teachers with my own learning and experiences. That is why I started doing what I am doing now, helping YOU with my music blog and online courses here.
